Rhode Island Food Culture: Dining, Drinking & Food Stuff

Does anyone have any information on raising city chickens in Providence? Where does one get fresh eggs -- are there any urban layers?

try baffoni's farm in johnston, organic. family owned + operated. i buy all of the eggs + chicken for nicks there. they're nice too, so they may be able to answer your questions about raising chickens.

Thanks, Frank. I'll look into it. We are planning a move this year to Providence. Not quite there yet.

Thanks, Frank! That is a great tip! I will check out the farm soon. Do you know of anyone who actually has a few city chickens in their backyard? Does Providence zoning allow for this? Hoping to try it out some day . . .

Our goal was not to create another place for people to get hit with a one way information flow, but to start a dynamic, group conversation about food culture in Rhode island by all who are passionate about it. Bon Appetite
