Favorite Restaurant in Rhode Island
Where to start?...

New Rivers for straight up New England bistro fare that never disappoints, The Red Fez for house smoked pulled pork, jerked chicken & 'the next best' grilled cheese (sorry Ed!), as well as some killer beers and taxidermy, Stanley Burger for 'two with mushrooms & bacon' with a side of Quebec fries, Hewtin's Dog for the best artisan hot dogs and NY System on Smith for 'Two All The Way' after a pint or two, Don Jose's for Yucatan Style Pork- so f*ckin' good!, The original Apsara for spicy beef with bean curd & pea shoots, Nick's for my poached & soaked with a side of sausage and of course The Sandwich Hut for a toasted 'All Italia'.
Favorite Place for Dessert
My kitchen- my wife is a pastry chef, but otherwise- you CANNOT disrespect a huge slice of heath bar cake from Gregg's...you just can't. I won't allow it. Really- it is awesome..
Favorite Cheap Eats
Anything from my walk-in.

So I hear you met my roommate Blair at Broadway Bistro last night. Now you have met everyone. So I think I am going to sign up for the "cheese 101", and try and persuade some of my roommates to join me. Anyways, I'll see you around.

I had never been by your place until a few weeks ago - and what do you know, we show up on the Rachael Ray's Tasty Travels film crew evening. Despite all of the distractions, your staff was attentive and helpful.

Upon our waiter's recommendation, we rocked the grilled branzini. It did not disappoint! By the end, I was sucking on the poor guy's face to get all the flavor and goodness out of the cheeks that I could. Mmmm.

Thanks for a great evening. Lemme know when I'll be able to see myself chowing down on national TV - that's definitely a lifelong dream.

Thanks for the hi ho. You are top on my list of Restaurants we must do business with this season. This part of the New England coastline is extra chilly this year. Tomatoes heated and protected in the Greenhouse have never looked better. Field crops on the other hand are behind. Lettuce, beets and swiss chard are going out tomorrow but only under cover. We are shooting for May 28 - June 3rd for first lettuce. Look for our restaurant blog coming out mid May. It will be a weekly chance for restaurants to see photos and get up dates on whats ready and what there is to look forward to... We are stretching our bean palate this year....Asian long beans, real Lima (fresh limas are much like sweet corn. If not eatin in 24 hours all you have left is beans for suckitash! Eat them fresh and ..well you will just have to see or eat for your self...thanks for keeping us in your thoughts ; all the best ..... Skip

Hey Matt,
That's funny I single out the one photo you didn't take; but they're all really impressive! Great perspectives and close-ups. I'm still jealous!
On another note, I tried to get your famous pork sandwich downtown, but I went on the day your shop was closed. In an odd coincidence, we had just spent the previous day replacing our broken water heater, so it was a theme for the week. Wacky.
