new south county restaurants

any one know when the second RED STRIPE restaurant and TRIO [part of the newport group] who brought you castle hiil, the mooring etc. will be open and ready for business?

Don't know exact dates...but I was at Mill's Tavern this past weekend, and Sean (manager) and Jaime D'Oliveira (owner) were pretty excited about the new place opening soon. Sean said it'll be about twice the size of the original red Stripe on the east side...and Jaime was pretty excited about how they've arranged out door seating.
It's going to be in that Stop and Shop plaza in Narragansett.

I work @ Trio. we are officially open for lunch and dinner. Come on down, it's really good!!

hi, tried to go last friday for lunch. they were closed..any particular reason?

I had dinner at Trio a week ago and it was —I don't want to say terrible but it was stunningly middling. The place is basically an Applebee's trying painfully hard to look like an Al Forno's. If you stick to burgers you're ok but anything else is heavy and overdone. Plus it's incredibly loud.

Red Stripe is a much better bet if you're in the area.

I just saw this. Both of these places are C- food at best.
